Ingredients
- 6 slices of white bread
- 2 cans of drained tuna, each weighing 5 ounces
- Approximately 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, adjust to your preference
- 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of finely chopped lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon of finely chopped dill
- Thinly sliced one large tomato
- 6 slices of Swiss cheese
Step 1
Position the oven rack approximately 6 inches away from the heat source and let the oven's broiler preheat. Lay out the bread in a nice, even layer on a baking sheet.
Step 2
Gently toast the bread on each side in the preheated oven for roughly a minute per side.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, and a touch of dill. Spread this flavorful tuna mixture generously on each slice of bread. Place the tomato slices on top of the tuna mixture and then add a layer of Swiss cheese.
Step 4
Put the baking sheet back in the oven and broil until the cheese is beautifully melted, usually around 3 to 5 minutes.
