Ingredients
- 16 slices of savory deli ham
- 16 slices of aromatic dill Havarti cheese
- 16 soft pretzels, frozen beforehand and then gently thawed, like the ones from the brand SuperPretzel®
Step 1
Prepare your outdoor grill and let it heat up to a nice medium temperature of around 325 to 375 degrees F (160 to 190 degrees C). Remember to give the grill grate a light coating of oil to prevent sticking.
Step 2
Take 8 pretzels and arrange them on a baking sheet with the salted side facing down. Now, generously layer ham and cheese on top of these pretzels. Place the remaining pretzels on top, making sure the salted side faces up.
Step 3
Once your pretzel sandwiches are ready, carefully transfer them to the grill. To press them down and ensure even cooking, place a heavy oven-safe skillet or bricks wrapped in foil on top. Close the lid and let the panini cook until the cheese is beautifully melted, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Enjoy your delicious grilled pretzel panini!
Extra Tips & Suggestions
- 1. Opt for airtight containers to keep your deli ham fresh and flavorful.
- 2. Store your favorite cheese in a cool, dark place to prevent it from becoming overly sharp.
- 3. Wrap your pretzel buns in a clean kitchen towel to maintain their softness and prevent them from getting stale.
