Ingredients
- A spritz of nonstick cooking spray
- 6 cups of sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed into bite-sized pieces
- ½ cup of butter, thinly sliced
- A splash of water, about ¼ cup
- 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons of rich brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of luscious heavy cream
- A hint of maple extract, just a teaspoon
- Dash of ground cinnamon, about ½ teaspoon
- Pinch of ground nutmeg, roughly ¼ teaspoon
- A sprinkle of salt, to taste
- 10 dainty marshmallows, or more if desired (Optional)
Step 1
Prepare your slow cooker by giving the interior a light coating of cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Step 2
Arrange the diced sweet potatoes snugly in the slow cooker, then drizzle over with a bit of butter and water for moisture.
Step 3
Allow the sweet potatoes to simmer and soften to perfection—it should take around 4 hours on the Low setting or 2 hours on High. Once cooked, power down the slow cooker.
Step 4
Now, it's time to infuse some more flavors into the sweet potatoes. Add a delightful combination of maple syrup, brown sugar, heavy cream, maple extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt directly into the slow cooker. Use an immersion blender to mix everything together until smooth and creamy.
Step 5
For the finishing touch, top off the dish with a generous sprinkle of mini marshmallows for a sweet and indulgent twist.
