Ingredients
- Fresh egg
- Generous 1 cup of matzo meal
- Tempeh sliced into thin 1/4-inch pieces from an 8-ounce package
- Quality vegetable oil for frying
- Approximately 1/2 cup of zesty Buffalo wing sauce
- Around 1/2 cup of creamy blue cheese dressing
Step 1
Beat an egg in a bowl for about half a minute to a minute until frothy. In another bowl, place the matzo meal ready for coating.
Step 2
Dredge tempeh slices in the beaten egg, then carefully coat them with the matzo meal until fully covered.
Step 3
In a skillet, heat oil to a temperature of around 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Fry the breaded tempeh until it turns a lovely golden brown, which should take approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Once done, place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil and allow them to cool slightly.
Step 4
Next, transfer the fried tempeh to a bowl and pour enough Buffalo wing sauce over them to cover. Seal the bowl and give it a good shake to ensure the tempeh is evenly coated with the sauce. Serve this delicious dish with a side of tangy blue cheese dressing.
