Ingredients
- 1. A generous portion of savory chicken broth, paired with a measure of fine Italian polenta, bathed in a touch of fat-free half-and-half.
- 2. A dollop of grapeseed oil, blended with four links of flavorsome Italian turkey sausage.
- 3. A rich portion of marinara sauce, weighing in at a total of twelve ounces.
- 4. A single bulb of medium-sized onion, expertly sliced to perfection.
- 5. A vibrant green bell pepper, deseeded and sliced into delicate strips.
- 6. A hint of butter to elevate the flavors.
- 7. A sprinkle of garlic salt and a dash of crushed red pepper to add depth.
- 8. A generous helping of grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese to finish off the dish.
Step 1
In a medium-sized heat-resistant glass bowl like Pyrex®, mix together chicken broth, polenta, and half-and-half. Let it sit for a moment.
Step 2
Heat up a multi-functional pressure cooker, such as an Instant Pot®, using the Saute function. Drizzle in grapeseed oil and let it heat up. Brown the sausages on each side, cooking for about 2 minutes. Add in the marinara sauce, onion, and bell pepper, stirring to blend flavors. Place a trivet in the pot and set the bowl of polenta on top. Seal the lid shut.
Step 3
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to set the pressure to high and set the timer for 10 minutes. Allow the pressure to build for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 4
Carefully release the pressure using the quick-release method as per the manufacturer's guidelines, which should take around 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid. Stir in butter, garlic salt, red pepper, and Parmesan cheese into the polenta until smooth. Serve hot and enjoy your meal.
Extra Tips & Suggestions
- Once you've enjoyed your delicious Savory Italian Sausage with Creamy Polenta made in the Instant Pot, it's important to store any leftovers properly to maintain their quality and flavor.
- 1. Cool Down First: Allow the dish to cool to room temperature before storing it. This helps prevent condensation buildup in the storage container, which can make the polenta soggy.
