Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon of aromatic ground cinnamon
- A hint of exotic ground cardamom, just 1/8 teaspoon
- A pinch of warm ground cloves for added depth
- A dash of salt and freshly ground black pepper to suit your taste buds
- One generously sized egg for binding
- 1 1/2 cups of finely diced raw pecans for a delightful crunch
- 4 bone-in pork chops, each measuring 3/4 inches in thickness
- A touch of cooking spray for the perfect sear
- 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley for a burst of herbal freshness
Step 1
To start, get your air fryer nice and toasty at 390 degrees F (200 degrees C) for roughly 5 minutes, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 2
Next, in a small bowl, mix together a delightful blend of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, salt, and pepper. Crack an egg into the mix and give it a good whisk until everything harmonizes perfectly. Have a plate ready with a generous amount of pecans.
Step 3
Take each pork chop for a little dip in the egg concoction, then gently lay it on the pecan-covered plate. Press those pecans onto both sides of the chop until they are nicely coated. Spritz a bit of cooking spray on both sides of the chops and transfer them to the air fryer basket.
Step 4
Let them sizzle away in the air fryer for about 6 minutes. Carefully flip the chops using tongs and continue air frying until the pork is cooked through and no longer pink in the middle, approximately another 6 minutes. Once done, plate them up while still warm, adorned with a sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley for that extra touch of freshness.
Extra Tips & Suggestions
- 1. To keep your pecans fresh and crunchy, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This will help preserve their natural oils and prevent them from turning rancid.
- 2. For the pork chops, once they are cooked and cooled, place them in a reusable silicone food bag before storing in the fridge. This will help keep them moist and tender while reducing plastic waste.
